Baton Rouge firefighters are trying to contain a large warehouse fire on North Foster at the intersection with Choctaw.

Mark Miles, a Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman, said Wednesday night it’s unclear if anyone was inside the warehouse when the fire broke out or if anyone is hurt.

“The warehouse is fully involved in flames so we’re just doing our best to extinguish the fire right now,” Miles said shortly before 10 p.m.

Dozens of firefighters are attempting to bring the fire under control inside the warehouse as thick black smoke billows up.

Police officers have the intersection closed. Miles said firefighters are trying to determine what’s stored inside the facility.
