Police: Woman choked son on video in hospital

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Baton Rouge woman accused of choking her 9-year-old son inside Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on Saturday afternoon.

Barbara Jordon, 25, could be seen on video slapping and choking her son, causing a scratch down the side of his neck, a Sheriff’s Office report says. Hospital employees found the boy crying in the hallway, according to the report.

Jordon told deputies that she “disciplined her child for standing up to her and screaming,” the report says.

Jordon, of the 1400 block of Marilyn Drive, was booked into Parish Prison on a count of cruelty to a juvenile.
