A 64-year-old man shot multiple times Thursday night on Plank Road died in a hospital early Friday morning, Baton Rouge police said.

Sgt. L'Jean McKneely, a police spokesman, said Jesse Chase died around 4 a.m. Friday after he was shot around 9 p.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Plank Road.

Investigators have not identified a motive for the shooting, McKneely said.

McKneely said anyone with information should contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 244-7867.
