A 28-year-old man who shot himself after allegedly killing his roommate in late March died from his injuries in the hospital.

Gary Graves Jr., 28, 5240 N. Flannery Road, died March 25 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Dr. William “Beau” Clark, the East Baton Rouge Parish coroner, said.

Graves’ death came two days after the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office says he fatally shot 56-year-old Damon Dixon inside the North Flannery Road home where both were living.

Deputies discovered the body after finding Graves at a separate address in the 9500 block of Trendale Drive, suffering from the self-inflicted gunshot wound, Casey Rayborn Hicks, spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office, said at the time.
