A Baton Rouge man accused of threatening to kill a woman's children and attempting to strangle her with an electrical cord was arrested Tuesday.
Damien Perez, 39, told the victim he would torture her children to death and "put a bullet in the back of" her ex-husband, according to his arrest warrant filed by Baton Rouge police.
The victim told police Perez broke a lamp and attempted to strangle her with the cord. Then he set the bed on fire while she was lying on it, according to the warrant.
Police did not indicate in the warrant the relationship between Perez and the victim.
Perez, 2245 College Drive, Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on attempted second-degree murder, aggravated arson, domestic abuse battery and two counts of simple assault.
