A Baton Rouge man identified by police as a heroin dealer was arrested Wednesday during an investigation into a drive-by shooting in Baker over the weekend.

Brandon “Beezy” Parker, 24, is a suspect in the Saturday incident on Camellia Street. However, he has not been formally accused of firing a weapon and no one was injured in the shooting, said Baker Police Chief Mike Knaps.

Authorities seized a Glock pistol — which police said had been stolen — two digital scales, 89.5 grams of heroin, $7,226 in cash and packing materials inside Parker’s residence at 8820 Greenwell Springs Road in Baton Rouge.

Parker faces counts of distribution of schedule I narcotics, possession with intent to distribute schedule I narcotics, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish prison in lieu of $151,000 bail.
