A Baton Rouge man was arrested Thursday evening in an unsolved September 2014 shooting after a witness identified him in a photo lineup as one of two shooters, police said.
Deandre Anthony, 19, 526 Iberville St., Baton Rouge, was booked Thursday with one count of second-degree murder.
Cornell Cummings was found on West Johnson Street on Sept. 23, 2014, shot multiple times. He died in a nursing home Dec. 1, 2014, police have said.
Police said that detectives learned at the time of the shooting that two people with firearms approached Cummings, who was standing in the front yard of a West Johnson home, and opened fire at him several times.
Police detectives eventually found a eyewitness to the shooting who picked Anthony out of the lineup, police said.
Anthony was 18 at the time of the shooting.
Anthony was being held on $100,000 bail in Parish Prison, police said.
The second suspect is under investigation, Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said.
