Baton Rouge teen accused of second-degree murder in Oct. 1 shooting on Osceola Street _lowres

A teenager accused in an early October killing in Baton Rouge was arrested Friday.

Tyler Pointer, 18, was taken into custody without incident, three days after authorities named him as a suspect in the shooting death of Monquel Yates, said Baton Rouge Police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely.

Pointer, of 2762 Jessamine St., faces a count of second-degree murder.

Yates, 24, was found dead of gunshot wounds on Oct. 1 in the 3400 block of Osceola Street.
