A Baton Rouge woman is accused of intentionally hitting a woman with her car, crashing into a house and then fleeing on foot, leaving a toddler behind in the car.
Melissa Davis, 26, was fighting with the victim in a car Tuesday night when the victim opened the door and started to walk away, according to an arrest report.
Davis then drove onto the sidewalk in the 6700 block of Myrtlewood Drive and hit the victim, knocking her to the ground, Baton Rouge police said.
As she sped away, Davis crashed into the living room of a nearby house, the report says. She then got out of the car and ran into another house, leaving behind her 2-year-old passenger.
Witnesses identified both Davis and the victim as residents of the neighborhood.
Davis, 6731 Myrtlewood Drive, was booked Wednesday into Parish Prison on counts of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, hit and run, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and failure to wear a seat belt.
