No one was injured in the fire, but four people - two children and two adults - were displaced because of the blaze.

Man, 20, arrested in Alliquippa slaying

Police on Thursday arrested the second suspect wanted in the Nov. 21 fatal shooting of a man in the 3700 block of Alliquippa Street, a police spokesman said in a news release.

John Keith Coleman Jr., 20, 3775 Topeka St., surrendered to police and was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count each of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon in the killing of Jeremiah Pate, 21, police Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said in the news release.

Joshua Lewis, 19, 4035 Alliquippa St., surrendered to authorities Wednesday in the killing and was booked on the same counts.

Witnesses told police they saw Lewis and Coleman approach Pate from behind, take out guns and fire multiple shots at Pate, who was found dead in the street, an arrest warrant said.

Authorities arrest 1 on suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least one person suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, booking records show.

Amanda Blanchard, 21, 126 Ormond Village, Destrehan, was booked into Parish Prison on one count each of first-offense DWI, failure to signal and improper lane usage.
