Two people who racked up some $13,000 in charges on stolen credit and debit cards are being sought by the Baton Rouge Police Department.
The thieves posed as customers at My Sewing Shoppe, 7630 Old Hammond Highway, on May 12, with one of them distracting a clerk while the other grabbed several cards from a purse behind the counter, Baton Rouge Police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola said in a news release.
The pair, captured on surveillance footage, used the stolen cards to spend about $13,000 at several local businesses, he said.
Anyone with any information on the identity of the suspects is asked to contact the Baton Rouge Police Financial Crimes Division at (225) 389-3871 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
