A Baton Rouge Police officer has been placed on administrative leave while the department investigates how his marked car ended up in an LSU Lake earlier this week, police said.
The marked police unit was driven into the water about 2 a.m. Thursday, police said.
Authorities found the car in the water near the intersection of East Lakeshore Drive and Cedardale Avenue, said Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, a Baton Rouge Police spokesman.
Few other details are available because the officer, Byron Boudreaux, is under internal investigation.
Boudreaux has been with the Baton Rouge Police Department for two years and works in uniform patrol in the First District, McKneely said.
