Authorities have arrested two male students at Greenville Alternative School in Baton Rouge after a female student reported last week that the boys inappropriately touched her.

Taylor Gast, a spokeswoman with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, confirmed Tuesday that the incident was reported March 1. She said a teacher has been placed on administrative leave for leaving the classroom unattended when the incident occurred.

Law enforcement was contacted immediately and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office arrested two male students on sexual battery counts, Gast said.

Greenville Alternative School currently serves around 100 students in grades six through eight, according to school system data.
