Alivia Lemoine

A 20-year-old employee of Animal Crackers Learning Center pinched a toddler at the center, then texted photos of the bruise to a co-worker and joked about how the little girl probably wouldn't play with her anymore, according to an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office report.

"She gon' stop playing with me," Alivia Lemoine texted her co-worker on March 21, following by a laughing smiley face. "Wait till you see it tomorrow. It might be a bruise, girl pinched her so hard she couldn't even cry, her mouth was just open."

Investigators say the incident happened on March 21 at the daycare on Jefferson Highway and it was reported by the victim's mother on the next day.

The daycare director told officials she found out about the situation after an employee showed her the text messages the next day.

Lemoine, of 9379 Tasmania Ave., Baton Rouge, was booked Thursday into Parish Prison on a count of cruelty to juveniles.
