For the second time in days, firefighters Sunday rushed to a Mohican Street home that had been set ablaze, a press release says.

Fire was shooting from the attic when firefighters arrived at 4830 Mohican St., about 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Curt Monte, a Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman, said in news release.

Firefighters kept the fire from spreading from the attic, the release says. But the rest of the home received smoke and water damage.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire because the residents have been staying somewhere else since the first fire on Thursday, Monte says in the release.

Damage is estimated at $25,000, the release says. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fire Department at (225) 354-1419.
