A Baton Rouge man was arrested Tuesday after he was accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl in early July.

Baton Rouge Police interviewed the girl on Aug. 27, and she told police around July 4 she was awake in her bedroom with her siblings, who were asleep, and Tyrus McDowell came in. McDowell, 35, told her to go into the living room, where he molested her for what she said seemed like an hour, the report says.

McDowell only stopped when it sounded like the girl’s mother was waking up, at which point he ran out of the living room, the report says.

McDowell, 5000 block of Glen Oaks Drive, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of molestation of a juvenile.
