A 15-year-old boy and a 26-year-old man were injured by gunfire Friday night on North Ardenwood Drive, and while police were investigating at the scene, a second round of shots were fired an hour later in the same vicinity.

The first shooting occurred about 8 p.m. at 650 N. Ardenwood Drive.

At 9:15 p.m., multiple shots were fired near the Renaissance Gateway apartment complex, and people scattered at the sound of gunfire.

A number of police units were at the scene, with at least 10 units stationed at a food mart nearby.

The two shooting victims were stable when Emergency Medical Services transported them to a hospital, EMS spokesman Mike Chustz said.

“The injuries appear to be nonlife-threatening,” Baton Rouge police spokesman L’Jean McKneely said. Both victims are expected to survive.

The shooting apparently was the result of an argument among a group of people, McKneely said, but he could provide no further information other than that the shooter fled in a vehicle.
