Two young adults in Hammond have been arrested after they allegedly shot their way into a Hammond store and made off with more than $1,000 worth of merchandise, according to a release from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office. 

Surveillance video shows two men, identified as 17-year-old Jason Paul Shelton, of Hammond, and 18-year-old Michael Freeman, of Walker. The time stamp of the video indicated the burglary occurred just after 3 a.m. the morning of Dec. 27.

The video shows the two men shoot their way into the Create-A-Cig Shop on University Avenue. Once they enter, the two men can be seen shooting into glass cases to steal electronic cigarettes. 

Some of the stolen items were recovered, deputies said.
