After getting into a fight with his girlfriend over rent money and his apparent sexual advances toward other women, a Baton Rouge man Monday was accused of choking and biting his partner and pulling out a plug of her hair, police say.

Marcus D. Turner, 22, faces multiple counts, including false imprisonment with a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse with strangulation, after attacking his girlfriend of four years, the police affidavit says. The fight began around 10:24 a.m. Monday after Turner apparently overslept and failed to pick up his girlfriend from work, according to the affidavit. Turner “produced a handgun and would not allow her to leave when the police arrived on scene,” it said.

Turner, of 5485 Monarch Street in Baton Rouge, who has been arrested 15 times and has been convicted of drug possession, according to the document, also faces counts of having a firearm as a convicted felon. He is being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
