Authorities on Tuesday arrested a Baton Rouge woman accused of raping a 12-year-old boy repeatedly over the course of last year.
The victim’s mother contacted law enforcement after she found on her son’s phone inappropriate text messages with 18-year-old Teryiyanne Pierre, according to an arrest report. The victim told investigators he was in a relationship with Pierre, East Baton Rouge sheriff’s deputies said.
Pierre, 2815 Canonicus St., Apartment B, was booked Tuesday into Parish Prison on counts of sex crimes, included aggravated rape.
Man accused of stabbing victim for ‘disrespecting’ wife
Baton Rouge police on Thursday arrested a 31-year-old man accused of repeatedly stabbing a man with a steak knife, causing life-threatening injuries.
Yoan Hernandez told police he started a fight with the victim after he disrespected Hernandez’s wife, according to an arrest report. Hernandez stabbed the man three times — at least twice in the torso — because “he did not like him,” the report says.
The stabbing happened about 2 a.m. at 1220 W. Chimes St., police said.
Hernandez, 1153 W. Chimes St., Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison Thursday on counts of attempted second-degree murder.
BR man accused of threatening to shoot man
Authorities on Thursday arrested a Baton Rouge man accused of trying to shoot a man and of later throwing a full water bottle in the face of a police officer.
The victim told police the Brandon Phillips, 31, pointed a gun at him as the victim was walking around the pitside of his house Thursday morning, according to an arrest report. Phillips pulled the trigger about three times, but the gun did not fire, the victim said, according to the report.
Phillips chased the victim inside his house, where he pulled the trigger several more times, but the gun again failed to fire, police said. The victim was eventually able to wrestle away the gun from Phillips, who ran away, police said.
Baton Rouge police found Phillips, a convicted felon, walking nearby shortly after the incident, but he tried to run away when they confronted him, the arrest report says. During booking, Phillips was “uncooperative” and threw a plastic bottle full of water in the face of an officer, police said.
Phillips, 5575 Truman St., Baton Rouge, was booked Thursday into Parish Prison on counts of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated burglary, resisting arrest, battery on officer and possession of firearm by a convicted felon.
BR man booked in attempted rape in Gardere neighborhood
East Baton Rouge sheriff’s deputies on Thursday arrested a 34-year-old man accused of trying to rape a woman in Baton Rouge’s Gardere neighborhood.
Joseph Haynes entered a woman’s apartment and asked to have sex with her, according to arrest report. When the woman refused, Haynes told her it was “too late” and tried to pull her clothes off, the arrest report says.
A witness told police she saw the incident and fought Haynes away from the victim, the report says. The victim and witness escaped to neighbor’s home, where they called police, the report says.
When deputies arrived, Haynes denied the incident happened, the report says.
Haynes, 8216 Ned Ave., Apartment C, Baton Rouge, was booked Thursday into Parish Prison on counts of attempted forcible rape.
Authorities arrested at least seven people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday, booking records show.

Robert White, 23, 107 S. 22nd St., Mer Rouge, first-offense DWI and reckless operation of vehicle.
