A Pride man was arrested Thursday after a woman accused him of taking her back to his house from a cookout and raping her in April, an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office report says.

On April 24, the woman told investigators that on April 13 she was drinking and visiting at the cookout with 20-year-old Christopher Roy Mcgowan and others. After a while, Mcgowan drove her and other friends to his home, which was 40 minutes away, according to the report.

The victim told deputies that Mcgowan's mother did not want her inside their house, but when she asked him what she was doing there after she fell asleep on the drive, he told her just get out of the truck.

Deputies say the victim tried to go to sleep once she went in the house, but she blacked out after Mcgowan gave her two pills. She woke up to Mcgowan raping her and ran out of the home after Mcgowan's mother came in and told her to leave, according to the report.

Mcgowan was booked in Parish Prison Thursday on a warrant dated May 9 on third-degree rape.
