A Livingston man was killed in a single-vehicle crash shortly before midnight Saturday when his car ran off La. 42 and struck a tree, according to State Police.

Paul Dubois, 57, of Livingston, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier east on La. 42, just west of La. 63 in Livingston, when his car left the road and struck the tree, according to a State Police news release.

Dubois, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially thrown from the car, according to State Police. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office.

State Police said impairment is a possible factor in the crash, according to a news release. A toxicology sample was taken from Dubois and submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis, according to the news release.
