Deputies on Thursday arrested a 30-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy while the boy was staying at a friend’s house in December.

The victim’s mother told police on Dec. 27 that her son was sleeping on a neighbor’s sofa that night when Christopher Lawrence Reed assaulted him, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office report says.

The victim told investigators Reed woke him up early in the morning and asked him if he’d had sex before. The boy said, “no,” the report says.

Reed sexually assaulted the victim until the victim told him “no,” stood up, got dressed and ran home, the report says.

The 13-year-old identified Reed in a six-person line-up as the one who assaulted him.

Deputies tried several times to get in contact with Reed but were unsuccessful.

A warrant for Reed’s arrest was issued Jan. 11, and Reed, 5125 Lanier Drive, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on sexual battery and attempted oral sexual battery.
