Detectives with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help in identifying an armed robber that held up a Baton Rouge Jimmy Johns sandwich shop Monday.

The unidentified man wearing a red bandana over his face walked into a Jimmy Johns location at 10711 Coursey Blvd. at about 8:15 p.m., pulled out a gun and demanded employees open the restaurant’s cash register and safe, said Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks.

After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the man — described as approximately 6 feet to 6 feet two inches tall and of average build — ran toward the old Remington College building on Coursey Boulevard, Hicks said.
