A 55-year-old Baton Rouge man was killed in a single-vehicle crash about 8:30 p.m. Thursday on La. 63 south of La. 449 in Livingston Parish.
Trooper 1st Class Jared Sandifer said Louis L. Gurka III was driving a 2002 GMC Yukon northbound on La. 63 when the vehicle ran off the roadway to the right, hit a culvert and rolled over several times.
Gurka, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle, Sandifer said. He was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.
Sandifer said impairment may have been a factor in the crash and a toxicology sample was submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
