A federal judge Thursday sentenced a Gonzales man to 15 years in prison for downloading hundreds of child pornography videos at his home.

Jason Louis Owens, 34, used peer-to-peer file sharing to download the pornography to his computer and external hard drive, U.S. Attorney Walt Green said in a news release.

After an online undercover sting, federal investigators raided Owens’ home in November 2012, Green said.

It was his second conviction for receiving child pornography. Owens was sentenced to two years in prison in 2004 for the same offense.

U.S. District Judge Shelly Dick also ordered Owens to pay $2,000 to one of his victims, Green said.
