Two Baton Rouge men died Saturday night after their car crashed into a tree in Ethel, the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office reported.
Jonathan Hilliard, 22, was driving his BMW 328 south on Line Road around 8 p.m. Saturday when he failed to stop at a stop sign at La. 955, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Kevin Garig said in a news release.
Hilliard drove the car through the intersection and it struck a tree soon after, Garig said.
Hilliard and his passenger, Sterling Kado, 21, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both men were wearing their seat belts, Garig said.
It is not yet known if impairment was a factor in the crash. A blood sample from Hilliard will be analyzed at the State Police Crime Lab, Garig said.
