Two people are accused of robbing three men at a motel on Airline Highway and shooting one of those men in the face late Thursday night, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department report.

The duo entered the Woodacres Motel in the 8200 block of Airline Highway just after 11 p.m. Thursday, pulled out guns and robbed the men of their cell phones and money.

Sherry Nover, 18, of 2922 Canonicus in Baton Rouge is accused of then shooting one of the men in the face, according to the report. Officials say that wounded man was unable to give a statement due to his injuries, but the other men identified her.

Nover was arrested around 8 a.m. Friday on attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal use of a firearm.

The other alleged armed robber is 21-year-old Percy Maloid of 2922 Canonicus Drive in Baton Rouge. He was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Friday on attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and introduction of contraband into a penal facility.

Maloid was convicted of simple burglary, according to his arrest records.
