Baton Rouge police arrested a 37-year-old man, who goes by the nickname of “Dude,” after he was accused of robbing an acquaintance at gunpoint on Wren Street Friday afternoon.
The victim told police that two men came out from behind a residence at 2795 Wren Street, pointed a “chrome semi-automatic handgun” at him and stole $1,460 from his pockets, the Baton Rouge police report says.
The victim told police he knew one of the men, who went by the name “Dude.”
“Dude” was later identified as Arthur Williams.
The victim told detectives he knew where Williams lived, and he identified him as one of the men who robbed him that afternoon after police took him to Williams’ house, the report says.
Williams, of 4076 Keokuk St., denied any involvement in the robbery, the report says, but he was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on armed robbery.
