A Baton Rouge man accused of punching a man during a bar fight who later died of his injuries surrendered to authorities Tuesday, police said.

Andres Gonzalez, 27, 2225 College Drive, was to be booked on one count of second-degree murder in the death of 39-year-old Raphael Domino Jr., said police Cpl. L’Jean McKneely.

Gonzalez is accused of punching Domino during a May 5 fight at the End Zone Daiquiri & Bar on Plank Road, authorities have said.

Domino was punched and then fell to the ground, striking his head, police said.

A police report shows officers responded to the fight at 1:10 a.m. and found Domino receiving medical attention from firefighters and Emergency Medical Services officials.

East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner Dr. Beau Clark said Domino died May 12 from “blunt force craniocerebral injuries.”
