A Baker man was shot and killed on Interstate 10 early Sunday when shots were fired into his vehicle by a gunman in a passing vehicle.

Herbert Williams, 25, of 1110 Shiloh Ave., Apt. A, Baker, was shot at about 4:15 a.m. in the 200 block of eastbound I-10, said Cpl. Don Coppola Jr., adding that Williams died later Sunday at a hospital.

The other three occupants in William’s vehicle were not injured in the shooting, Coppola said.

Police do not believe the shooting was random, he said.

There are no known suspects or motives, Coppola said.
