Baton Rouge Police on Sunday arrested a 26-year-old man after he allegedly struck his mother’s boyfriend with a metal pipe, claiming the man was cheating on her.
Freddie Robinson, 26, was booked into Parish Prison on a count of attempted second-degree murder, according a police report.
Police responded to the 900 block of Marsh Street around 3:30 a.m. Dec. 3 and found a man who had multiple wounds to the head, according to the report.
The victim told police Robinson had come to the residence earlier that day and began asking the boyfriend about a woman he had been seeing. The victim said the woman was just a friend, but Robinson hit him on the head with a metal pipe four or five times, according to the report.
The victim ran out the door and was later taken to a hospital, police said.
Robinson’s mother told police that her son did hit the victim over the head several times with the pipe, according to the affidavit.
Robinson’s bail had not been set by Monday morning.
