A Baton Rouge man was arrested on five counts of murder Thursday, but is also linked to the slaying of a sixth man, Baton Rouge police announced Thursday.
Jeremy Montrell Robertson, 25, 724 North 22nd St., faces three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, and two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, said Baton Rouge Police Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, in a news release.
The three first-degree murder counts stem from the Aug. 2 triple shooting deaths of Kevin Ford, Antoine Harris and Fredrick Corner in the 2300 block of Jefferson Avenue, McKneely said.
He was accused of a count of second-degree murder in the death of George Dyson, whose body was found in Gilbert’s Cemetery at 5900 Greenwell Springs Road on Nov. 17, 2010, according to McKneely’s statement. Dyson’s cause of death was determined to have been the result of multiple gunshot wounds.
The other count of second-degree murder is from the July 14, 2015, killing of Kerry Green at Elm Grove Garden Apartments, 8770 Elm Grove Garden Drive, McKneely said.
Robertson had already been booked on a count of second-degree murder in the June 3, 2009, shooting death of Louis Deggs at 2838 Jackson Ave., but the case was no true billed by a grand jury in 2010, McKneely said.
However, detectives are hoping to present the Deggs case to a grand jury for a second time with newly obtained evidence.
Roberson was already being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on an unrelated count since at least April 27, according to jail records.
This is an ongoing investigation, McKneely said.
