Fire Department: Woman accused of burning bag of estranged boyfriend’s belongings at new girlfriend’s house _lowres

A fire set upon a man’s clothing and property landed a Baton Rouge woman in jail Monday.

Courtney Deshell Pittman, 22, is accused of simple arson after multiple witnesses said she placed a bag of her estranged boyfriend’s belongings in front of his new girlfriend’s apartment and lit the sack on fire using a lighter and can of hair spray around 6:54 p.m. Monday, according to a Baton Rouge Fire Department report.

The fire caused about $500 worth of damage, the document said.

Pittman, of 4554 Alvin Dark Avenue, is being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish prison on $10,000 bail.
