Baton Rouge police said foul play cannot be ruled out in the disappearance of a Baton Rouge woman after her 3-year-old daughter was found Thursday morning alone near her mother’s vacant vehicle.

Police were summoned at 9 a.m. after Lyntell Washington’s daughter was seen wandering unsupervised in a parking lot at 11832 Newcastle Ave., near her mother’s vehicle, said Sgt. Don Coppola, a police spokesman.

The child appeared to be unharmed, Coppola said, and she was reunited with family members.

Washington and her daughter live at 12074 Newcastle Ave., not far from the parking lot where the toddler was found, Coppola said.

A witness in the area had seen the child, called police and stayed with the child until the authorities arrived, Coppola said.

Police ask anyone with information on Washington’s whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867 or Missing Persons at (225) 389-8617.
