A home on Sunset Boulevard in Baton Rouge was damaged Tuesday night after a two-alarm blaze engulfed the house in what the Baton Rouge Fire Department called an accident.

Firefighters arrived at the house, located at 150 Sunset Boulevard, just before 6 p.m. and saw flames through the roof of the attached garage, according to fire department spokesman Mark Miles. After the fire spread to the attic, a second alarm was called and firefighters had the blaze under control by 7:15 p.m.

The house was heavily damaged by both the fire and smoke, Miles said. Red Cross was called to assist the residents.
