Advocate staff photo by RICHARD ALAN HANNON -- East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office personnel place a body into the back of a coroner's vehicle after collecting it from a homeless camp behind Ralph & Kacoo's restaurant on Bluebonnet Boulevard Monday in Baton Rouge.

The body of an unidentified man was discovered Monday in a wooded area just west of Bluebonnet Boulevard and south of where it intersects with Interstate 10, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, a spokeswoman for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.

“There are no obvious signs of foul play at this point, but we won’t know for sure until we process the scene,” Hicks said.

The Sheriff’s Office was alerted at 12:45 p.m. by two transient men who’d been camping in the wooded area behind Ralph & Kacoo’s Restaurant, 6110 Bluebonnet Blvd.

“It looks like he’s been there for awhile,” Hicks said, adding that deputies believe the man may have been homeless.

The parish Coroner’s Office plans to follow up to determine the cause of death, she said.
