Members of a family awakened Wednesday morning by the sound of breaking glass discovered that an accelerant had been thrown through a window of their home, causing a small fire, Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Mark Miles reported in a news release.
Firefighters arrived on the scene just after 4:30 a.m. to find a small fire in the front of the house at 10025 Ave. L. They quickly extinguished the fire and contacted arson investigators. The house received little fire or smoke damage, and no one was reported injured. The Red Cross was called to assist the family.
