A 27-year-old man wanted in a shooting Monday night on Jefferson Avenue surrendered to Baton Rouge police Wednesday morning, police said.

Travis Thomas, of 1903 Pocahontas St., turned himself in after several calls to Crime Stoppers linked him to the shooting that left a 40-year-old man in critical condition at a local hospital, Baton Rouge police spokesman Cpl. Don Coppola said in a news release.

Thomas shot the man following an argument with the victim, who remained hospitalized in critical condition, Coppola said.

Thomas will be booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.
