A Baton Rouge man sent an email early Monday evening to a woman who’d sought refuge in a local shelter threatening to kill her and rape her daughters, police say.

Later that night, Richard Lemoine, 38, 745 Parlange Drive, was in parish prison, facing counts of simple assault, stalking, cyberstalking and violation of a protective order.

According to Lemoine’s arrest warrant, before he sent the email, the victim observed him passing by where she was in the passenger seat in a small maroon car. The victim showed police a protective order she’d obtained against Lemoine in mid-March.
