Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at 8:13 a.m. Tuesday at the Dollar General, 3939 Choctaw Drive, according to a police spokesman.

The suspect went into the store, flashed a hand gun and demanded money from the cashier, Sgt. Don Stone said.

The robber took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, Stone said.

Video from the store captured the suspect’s image inside the Dollar General. The video also captured the robber outside the business getting into a small, white four-door vehicle, possibly a Honda Accord or Civic.

The robber is described as a 26-year-old black man, 6 foot, 3 inches tall with a thin build, medium to light skin tone, with a thin mustache and chin hair, Stone said. The robber was wearing a blue knit cap and a long-sleeve white and blue horizontal striped shirt, dark blue jeans and dark colored shoes.

Authorities arrest 1 suspected of DWI

Authorities arrested at least one person suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, booking records show.

  •  Stanton Dickerson, 35, 1742 N. Bellrose Drive, second-offense DWI, failure to signal, possession of alcoholic beverage in a vehicle, failure to maintain control and resisting an officer.
