A 56-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of stabbing and injuring another local man in July was arrested Tuesday, according to an arrest warrant.
Macarthur Spears, 1706 Terrance St., was booked with attempted second-degree murder Tuesday by police, East Baton Rouge Parish Prison records show.
According to the warrant, Spears showed up at the Cedar Lake Drive home of the victim July 2 inviting him to fight.
Spears was armed with a “cutting object” and stabbed the victim with it on the left upper arm and the wrist, causing major lacerations, the warrant says.
Two held in robbery, burglary, kidnapping
Authorities Wednesday arrested two men accused of robbing a man at gunpoint outside of his apartment, burglarizing the apartment and then kidnapping the man, according to an arrest warrant.
The victim told East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies on Sunday he was returning to his apartment at 11959 Nicholson Drive when a gunman approached him, demanding money, the warrant says.
The robbers then forced the victim into his apartment, where he was forced to help the robbers remove electronic items and load them into the victim’s truck, the warrant says.
The men then forced the victim into his truck and drove him to a nearby store to force him to use an automatic teller machie, the warrant says. The ATM was broken, the warrant says.
The victim escaped outside the store, running into a field and hiding until the men left, the warrant says.
The robbers were identified by witnesses and surveillance video as Brandon Fisher, 23, 449 Gottlieb St., and Demontrey Fisher, 20, 1744 Cedar Lake Lane.
Both men were booked into Parish Prison on one count each of aggravated kidnapping, armed robbery and aggravated burglary.
Woman booked with cruelty to a juvenile
A woman accused of hitting a 7-year-old girl in the mouth because she wasn’t doing her homework was arrested Tuesday, according to an arrest warrant.
Gabrielle Augusta, 22, 1012 S. Lanoux Ave., Gonzales, was booked Tuesday with cruelty to a juvenile by Baton Rouge police, East Baton Rouge Parish Prison records show.
According to the warrant, the victim’s mother left the girl with Augusta, a relative, on Aug. 31 while she wasn’t home.
Augusta reportedly called the victim’s mother several times and told her she was about to physically punish the girl for not listening, the warrant says.
The mother of the victim told Augusta not to touch her daughter, the warrant says.
The victim told police Augusta was angry with her after she refused to do her homework and that Augusta hit her in the mouth and the right shoulder, the warrant says.
Two drivers booked on EBR DWI counts
Authorities arrested at least two people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, booking records show.
Those booked and the counts against them:
• Marcus Morales, 28, 7906 Jefferson Place Blvd., Apt. E, first-offense DWI, improper lane usage, reckless operation of a vehicle and improper turns.
• Kylie Odom, 22, 4608 Folse Drive, Metairie, first-offense DWI, failure to signal and speeding.
