A 29-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of making his 8- and 10-year-old relatives smoke weed was arrested Wednesday on cruelty counts.
Jason Louis Taylor, of 4929 McClelland Drive, rolled marijuana blunts and provided them to the young boys on several occasions, instructing the children to smoke it, a Baton Rouge police report says.
The 8-year-old boy was taken to the hospital in February after being told to smoke weed — or possibly Mojo, a dangerous synthetic drug — and becoming ill, the report says. The child later tested positive for marijuana.
Both children said Taylor smoked marijuana in front of them on several occasions, the report says. The 10-year-old also said Taylor taught the children to blow smoke rings while smoking marijuana.
Police booked Taylor into Parish Prison on two counts of cruelty to juveniles and one count of illegal use of a controlled substance in the presence of a juvenile.
