Blaze on North 43rd under investigation

The Baton Rouge Fire Department is investigating the cause of a vacant house fire Sunday night.

When firefighters arrived at the home in the 1400 block of North 43rd St. at around 10:30 p.m., they could see fire burning in the front of the building — about 30 percent of the home was engulfed in flames, said Mark Miles, a BRFD spokesman.

The fire caused about $15,000 in damage, and no one was injured, Miles said.

The fire’s cause is still being investigated. Anyone with information can call BRFD at (225) 354-1416.
