Baton Rouge police on Monday arrested 23-year-old man accused in the Sept. 14 shooting and wounding of two men behind Reggie’s Bar in Tigerland.
During an argument at about 2:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of Bob Pettit Boulevard, Jerome Lamar Verret, 3026 Monroe Ave., Baton Rouge, pulled out a pistol and shot a 23-year-old man in the right leg and a 20-year-old man in the abdomen, police have said.
Both victims are recovering.
Police booked Verret into Parish Prison on two counts of attempted first-degree murder, prison records show.
Verret surrendered to police at about 9:40 a.m. Monday and made no statements, said Cpl. Don Coppola Jr., a police spokesman.
Bail has been set at $200,000.
Sunday shooting injury under investigation
Baton Rouge police are investigating a Sunday night shooting that sent a 25-year-old man to the hospital.
Police found the victim at 1806 Plank Road shortly before 9:40 p.m. with a single gunshot wound to the upper body, Baton Rouge police said.
The injury is not life threatening, police said.
Police have no motives or suspects.
Police searching for Dollar General gunman
Baton Rouge police are searching for a masked man who walked into a Dollar General store on Sunday armed with a handgun and grabbed money from the register before running from the store.
The robbery occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. at the store at 1871 Staring Lane, Suite B, said Cpl. Don Coppola Jr., a police spokesman.
The robber walked into the store, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded cash from the register, Coppola said.
The robber is a medium to heavyset black man, 6 feet tall, who wore a white button-up shirt, blue work pants and a black ski mask, Coppola said.

Authorities book man on suspicion of DWI
Authorities arrested at least one man suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked him into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday, booking records show.
Johmel Jolla, 29, 4372 Lemonwood Court, Baton Rouge, was booked on second-offense driving while intoxicated, reckless operation and driver’s license not in possession.
