A woman being treated in a Baton Rouge emergency room was arrested Sunday after kicking two nurses, one in the groin and another in the stomach, authorities say.
Shari Kay Dilley, 48, faces three counts of battery of emergency room personnel after she attacked two nurses at Ochsner Medical Center at 17,000 Medical Center Drive, according to an affidavit by the East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s office.
Dilley kicked a male nurse in the groin from a standing position, and later thrust her foot into the abdomen of another nurse while the two staff members were in the process of putting the patient into leather restraints, the document said.
While the first nurse was checking on the restraints, Dilley freed herself and slapped him across the face, causing redness, according to the affidavit.
Dilley, of 1293 N. River Road in Denham Springs, was medically cleared and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, the document says. The sheriff’s office did not say why Dilley was seeking treatment at the hospital. Dilley was too uncooperative to have her photograph taken, said department spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks, who added restraints have not been used on Dilley inside the jail.
