A Baton Rouge man remained jailed Saturday after he was accused of choke-slamming a family member who tried to break up a fight between the suspect and another family member.
Andrea Leatherman, 38, is accused of grabbing the shirt of one family member, prompting a second family member to shove Leatherman in an attempt to break them up, the affidavit says.
Leatherman then wrapped his hands around the throat of the second family member and slammed him onto a bed, the affidavit says.
The 38-year-old then walked outside after a short skirmish with the family member on the bed to wait for the police, the affidavit says.
The incident occurred in front of a young child, according to the arrest affidavit.
Leatherman, 246 S. 21st St., Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of domestic abuse battery, domestic abuse battery/strangulation and domestic abuse battery/child endangerment. Bail has not been set.
