A 20-year-old Baton Rouge man is facing counts of first- and second-degree rape, sexual battery and indecent behavior with a juvenile after he repeatedly forced himself on a 13-year-old girl and left a 14-year-old victim pregnant, Baton Rouge Police said.

Kawme Griffin, 4358 Gus Young Ave., held down the 13-year-old and threatened to beat her while raping her on three occasions in October and November, police said in the report.

The victim told police she managed to run away from Griffin once after he’d thrown her onto a bed and pulled her pants down but that a week later Griffin “held her down and threatened to beat her up if she said anything,” the police report says.

A mandated reporter contacted Baton Rouge Police about the second victim, a 14-year-old girl who is eight-months pregnant, the report says.

That victim told police she met with Griffin at a friend’s house on two consecutive days “sometime around March or April” and that “one thing led to another,” the report says.

Baton Rouge Police approached Griffin Tuesday while he was in his vehicle parked in the driveway of his home. Officers noticed a marijuana cigarette and about a gram of marijuana sitting on the center console of the vehicle, the report says.

Griffin told the officers that the marijuana belonged to him “and that he smokes everyday,” the report says. He was booked on one count of possession of marijuana.

Bail for Griffin had not been set Wednesday morning.
