An early afternoon fire in a vacant home on Clayton Street on Thursday was intentionally set, Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Mark Miles said.
Firefighters were called to the single-family home at 4060 Clayton St. just before 12:30 p.m. and found smoke billowing from the house, Miles said. After entering through the front door, firefighters were able to contain the fire to the bedroom where it had been set, putting out the blaze in 11 minutes.
The home, valued at $90,000 before the fire, had approximately $25,000 in damage, Miles said.
