Baton Rouge authorities say they are investigating a fire that appears to have been intentionally set Saturday afternoon to a door leading into an apartment on North Ardenwood Drive.

When firefighters arrived at the Woodside Manor, 1251 N. Ardenwood, they found the front door to the apartment on fire. After firefighters determined no one was home, they kicked in the door to gain access.

The fire was contained to the door and the door casing, the release says, and affected none of the other apartments in the eight-unit complex. Damage is estimated at $1,000.

Anyone with information in regards to the fire is asked to contact Baton Rouge Fire Department arson investigators at (225)354-1419 or Crime Stoppers.
